History:
This Aircraft was originally a UC-61-A and served in the U.S. Navy based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was originally powered by a 185 hp Warner Super Scarab engine. Released from military service in 1948, it was converted to civilian status (24W-41A NC66143) by West Indies Airways in San Juan, Puerto Rico and made its first flight under civilian ownership on February 23, 1947. In June, 1947 it flew to Washington D.C. and remained in the Eastern United States flying until 1966. In June 1989, the abandoned, non-flyable project was sold to a new owner who commenced a 100 point restoration.
It was acquired by the current owner in 2011 who has flown it over 200 hrs and performed various upgrades.
